Teletherapy

Grace just had a baby.

She feels fearful, stressed out and alone.

Grace attempts to go out. She knows isolation is not good for her and her baby.

Feeling stuck between the extremes, she fluctuates between wanting to watch her baby 24/7 and wanting to run away.

“Am I supposed to enjoy this?”

She condemns herself for her negative reactions, for being tired.

Grace tells us there are moments when she feels very happy, almost ecstatic.

And then there are moments – most of the time – when she feels caged-in and doesn’t have the energy to call a friend, or even get out of bed on some days.

She forces herself to get up and do what “a good mother should do.”

But she continues to feel lonely, sad, and worried.

Like Grace, perhaps your experience is being locked inside, maybe unknown even to you. All you know is that you feel lonely, anxious and need to reach out?

When do you find the time?

Help is so close but so far away

Starting therapy for yourself or with your partner is a good next step, to help you during stressful times – such as the birth of a baby, or because of physical limitations.

You don’t want the distance or your life circumstances to be an obstacle to getting help.

Well don’t let it.

We can set up a time to meet, even if you can’t come in.

I am here to help you and hear what your difficulties are, at a time that is workable for you, in the same way as if we were to meet in person.

Setting up a consistent space for yourself to talk about your worries and fears will begin the process of recovering your well-being.

Worried that an online session might not be the same as in person?

We are so used to social media, online courses and connecting via Skype or FaceTime that the idea of online therapy might be both intriguing and strange.

In the beginning, for some people it might take a little getting used to, but then it really does not feel so different from in person contact. Teletherapy works.

I use a HIPPA compliant system that allows us to connect online, and it’s confidential.

How does it work?

We set up a time to meet online. Prior to your appointment you will receive clear instructions on how to log in.

Once you log in at the time of your appointment, I will be there to meet you.

It’s amazing how technology can allow us to meet in a confidential and safe space that mirrors traditional office visits.

The quality of treatment you receive will match in-person sessions.

Let’s get through the barrier of isolation and make more space for you.

If you reside in NY and would like to work with me, let’s start a conversation online. I am excited to be able to offer this to you.
